Respect for International Student School Cleaners

International students working in school cleaning are meeting to learn about the new rates of pay due in July and to start working together to win respect in their school cleaning jobs.

Last year public school cleaners won the right to be paid that the minimum wage. That means they are owed the award pay increase due in July. International students deserve this increase they also deserve change that gives them more job security, fairer workloads and respect at work.

International students contribute a lot to the economy in Victoria, but are often treated poorly at work. By working together international students working in school cleaning can win the respect in work that their contribution to the Victorian economy deserves.
