Martha Ojulo has remained silent, not speaking to the media in the 11 years since her son Liep Gony was murdered.
On September 26, 2007, Liep was the victim of a racist attack.
Two men armed with long metal poles beat her son and left him bleeding and injured on the side of the road.
The court heard the men wanted to "take my town back".
They wanted to "kill the blacks".
Ms Ojulo is speaking now ahead of a public memorial to remember Liep to be held on the steps of Parliament House on Wednesday at 12:30pm.
Through a translator she told Rafael Epstein that her heart is still broken but her anger is "not at everybody".
