Workplace Mental Health and Wellbeing

Workplace mental health and wellbeing is integral part of overall wellness. The risks of developing mental illness for migrants are higher than others and can be affected by nature of job, pay and conditions, work place environment etc.

In every workplace, employers have a legal obligation to ensure the health and safety of workers, including mental health. However, knowledge of workplace rights and psychosocial hazards help to prevent mental health injuries at the work places and seek help when needed.

We are organizing a ‘Workplace Mental Health and Wellbeing’ information session for MWC volunteers. This one-hour session will help MWC volunteers to support community members to understand their rights when it comes to mental health at work, common indicators of workplaces that are unsafe for mental health, and how to get help to address safety issues and mental health injuries.

Session details:
When: 6-7 pm, June 2, 2022

Who: Pinar Takir from Partners in Wellbeing, who will be taking about ‘Mental Health and Wellbeing’ and Wallace Huang from Migrant Workers Centre, will talk about common psychosocial hazards in the work places.
