Fighting for fair visa processing times

Brisbane comrades and community members,

Come out and support 887 visa applicants as they rally in King George Square on 30 September, 2022 from 11:30 until finished (AEST). 

This rally will be to raise awareness around the unfair visa waits for 887 visa applicants. The 887 visa (SC 887) is a skilled migration visa available to eligible migrants who have lived and worked in designated areas of regional Australia. Due to consistent delays in processing times, thousands of 887 applicants across Australia have been waiting more than 2 years and have had their lives turned upside down. Without clear pathways to permanency, migrant workers face impacts to nearly every aspect of their lives.

At the Migrant Workers Centre, we're speaking out against unfair visa processing times and the ways that migration policies have left migrant workers' lives in limbo.
