Join us in supporting migrant workers and unions fighting for the hospo industry:
Covid has revealed the importance of frontline workers and people whose jobs require them to adapt to a rapidly changing world and social landscape. Hospitality has always been an essential industry, for unions, community groups and migrant workers. For many migrants, it's a steppingstone into the world of work in Australia and it's essential that unions and migrant workers come together to advocate for better conditions and support for such a crucial industry.
That's why the Migrant Workers Centre is hosting a Town Hall event to bring together leaders, unionists, and migrant workers in hospitality to come together and advocate for the ways this industry can be better supported. Recognizing that this is an industry that has fought for big change through union organising and fighting for legislation change, we want to highlight Hospitality and the incredible workers and unions fighting for the industry.
Please join us online from 5:30-6:45pm on Zoom to hear from Massimo Calossi: union comrade, community leader and Chef who has been an outspoken advocate for hospo's migrant workers. We will also hear from unions and community leaders about what's being done on the ground to organise and campaign for hospo workers. This is a community event, and we encourage migrant workers, current and former hospo workers, as well as community leaders to join us in hearing about the current state of hospitality and how we can better advocate for the workers of this industry!
If you're a hospo worker who's wants to hear more about hospo, unions and we can fight for better conditions in our workplace, please come to this event!
