Submission to the Senate Inquiry into the Migration Amendment (Removal and Other Measures) Bill 2024

We fully endorse the Human Rights Law Centre’s submission and strongly urge the Committee to recommend that the Bill should not be passed. In this submission, we draw from our own work and research to illustrate the practical impacts of the proposed travel ban and the power to coerce people to leave Australia.

We pay particular attention to the consequences for holders of Bridging 'E' Visas (BVE).
