The Migrant Workers Centre is proud to receive the support of Study Melbourne on a project to increase the capacity of international students to respond to labor exploitation.
We would like to invite you to join our project committee!
International students face significant challenges when navigating the workplace. They can be vulnerable to wage theft and other forms of exploitation, including unsafe working conditions, lack of breaks, and sham contracting.
The Migrant Workers Centre:
The Migrant Workers Centre is a not-for-profit organization in Victoria that empowers migrant workers to understand their rights, enforce them in the workplace, and connect with other migrant workers. Since 2019, we have supported more than 1,000 workers to recover over $2,000,000 in stolen wages and delivered information on employment rights to more than 20,000 temporary visa holders.
Study Melbourne Inclusion Program:
The 2023 Study Melbourne Inclusion Program (SMIP) is part of Victoria's International Education Recovery Plan 2025 and aims to support the well-being of international students while facilitating their engagement with the community.
By joining our project committee, you will collaborate with other like-minded individuals to develop the activity's content, format, marketing, and logistics.
In addition to making a meaningful impact, you'll also have the opportunity to network with other passionate individuals who share your commitment to promoting diversity and protecting the rights of international students.
Do you want to make a real difference in the lives of International Students?
